About the mag…

The Dread Literary Review is an independent online literary magazine focused on displaying poems and fictions crafted around the themes of horror, mystery, and speculation. We are always open for submissions of flash fiction, short stories, and poetry.
M. Anne Avera, founding editor, was inspired by the frustration of the lack of accessible literary magazines that focus on darker writing. She is also an author and poet from Auburn, AL. You can find more of Anne’s work on Substack at writeranneavera.substack.com.
Lila Phurrough, editor, is an avid writer from southern Georgia who, more than most everything else, loves to read and discuss with her fellow writers. She has been a fan of horror ever since she was little, especially mundane horror. You can find more of Lila’s work on Substack at oatslotl.substack.com.
By signing up, you will access the best of the internet’s horrible minds as weekly shorts and monthly magazines straight to your inbox. Cut out the middleman and support independent lit mags!
